The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing more than 105 million workers in 133 countries of the 5 continents, joins its voice with the working class of Greece and expresses its undivided solidarity with the National Strike that is going to take place on February 28th, 2028.

35 Regional Trade Unions Centers and 19 National Federations have already decided to participate in the strike. The participating Reginal Trade Union Centers and National Federation represent hundreds of Trade Union including the unions of air traffic controllers and airport telecommunicators, railways, and maritime workers, Private Employees as well as workers in Construction, Garment, Energy, Press, Chemical, Bank, Hospitals, Pharmaceuticals, Education, Mines and other large sectors and regions. This record number of decisions is recorded despite the non-participation of the GSEE leadership.

The strike will be realized on a day that marks one year since the crime- train crash in Tempe that claimed the lives of 57 people with the victims’ families and the whole society still demanding exemplary punishment of the responsible ones. The International Class Oriented Trade Union Movement supports the just demands of the workers and their unions for an end to price rise, collective agreement with increased wages, public, free, and universal education and healthcare, safe transportation, and health and safety measures in workplaces.
