USB Italy stands by the Greek people and workers in the wake of the huge train tragedy between Athens and Thessaloniki which left dozens of dead and injured passengers.

At the root of tragedies like this, which are becoming more frequent despite the progress of new technologies, are always the choices of capital, which privatises, weakens safety measures, reduces the workforce and safety equipment in order to save money.

We are confident that the mobilisation of the Greek workers, led by the class  oriented trade  union PAME, will be able to identify, denounce and fight the political responsibility for this tragedy, even on this terrible occasion.
