To All Unions in Europe. No to the dismissals in the Coca Cola Factories

The American multinational firm Coca Cola, after shutting down the factory in Thessaloniki, (Northern Greece), proceeds now in restructuring as in shrinking departments in the factories in Volos (Central Greece) that will result in the dismissal of 52 workers.

At a time when the working class in Greece, has been tested by capitalist restructuring and the attacks of capital, the profitable multinational is closing down factories, is shrinking departments and is simultaneously aiming mainly to dissolve any sign of trade union organisation within its factories. During the last three years, Coca-Cola has dismissed 320 employees and has shoved working families into poverty.

The multinational Coca-Cola, being the leader/ monopoly the Greek market, follows the same practice in all countries of the world, aiming to load the economic crisis exclusively on the backs of workers.

Dozens of Unions express full sympathy and solidarity with the workers of the multinational Coca-Cola firm in Greece, who have been giving a heroic struggle for 4 months against the workers’ dismissals.

PAMEcallsthe workers in the subsidiariesofCoca ColaEurope, to express their solidarity with the Greek strikers of Coca Cola. PAME calls trade Unions to organize solidarity manifestations, to inform the workers in their countries with rallies and talks in workplaces.
