Dear comrades,

We are sorry to hear that 24 steelworkers have been sentenced in prison for having organized strike to oppose unjust labour policies in Greece. We strong believe that workers’ fight against monopolies and exploitation as well as their demand for job security and decent wages are legitimate and reasonable rights of the working people.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour would like to express its strong solidarity and support towards the struggle of steel workers and trade unions in Greece to protect their legitimate rights and interests.

We do hope that the Greek Government could reconsider their decision on imprisonment of these steelworkers.
