Dear comrades of USB,

PAME, expresses its solidarity with the General Strike that the USB, WFTU Affiliate, is organizing for the 10th of November in Italy

In all countries the capitalists want to finish with what’s left of workers’ rights: they want workers without a permanent and stable work, without collective agreements, with flexible working hours, without social security and healthcare; they want cheap workers to maximize their profits. These policies serve both the EU and the National governments in Greece, in Italy, and all across Europe regardless of the colors they have, or the labels they use, social-democratic or conservative, “left” or “right”.

At the same time, in both our countries oppression and repression against the workers is escalating, with attacks against trade unionists in Italy and the SYRIZA Government in Greece forwarding the demand of the Greek business groups to ban the right to strike. In all countries the EU is attacking workers’ rights in collective, organized struggle, workers’ trade union rights and freedoms. Against these developments PAME has called for demonstrations all over Greece on November 9 and is preparing a new National General Strike.

PAME supports the struggles of USB against the business groups, the Government and the EU. We stand in solidarity with your just struggle and express our support to your strike on November 10.
