Today, November 1, 2014, Trade Unions, Associations, Labour Centres, Farmers Associations, Self-Employed, Women, Students, gathered in Athens, for the National Rally called by PAME, to protest against injustice and capitalist exploitation, against the nightmare of unemployment and poverty.

At the same time, we do not forget the fighters who put their lives in the service of their people, to defend the gains of workers, the right of every people to decide its own fate, its own life and its own future, such as the example of the 5 Cuban patriots.

Their imprisonment is part and escalation of the criminal policy of the US against the Socialist Cuba with the 50 years multiform blockade. Part of the attack is the Common Position adopted by the EU since 1996, in full consistency with the criminal US policy, which is a blatant interference in Cuba’s internal affairs.

The attack on Cuba is an attack on the right of each people to decide and govern its own future. It is part of the attack on workers – popular rights and the lives of workers, the anti-communist hysteria and intensity of authoritarianism against the labor movement in the EU, in all capitalist countries.

We call on all trade unions, organizations of all organisations of the popular movement with resolutions, announcements, messages of solidarity with other initiatives to massively denounce the unjust and cruel imprisonment the Cuban patriots. To strengthen the solidarity movement for their release.
