The National Federation of Unions of Workers in Public and Social Functions of Portugal is in solidarity with the fight organized by PAME against the imposition of anti-union legislation.

Any attempt to withdraw union rights won by Greek workers and / or any other country is unacceptable and deserves the repudiation of the entire class union movement and its internationalist solidarity because the repeal of union laws in that sense represents an unacceptable step in the retreat civilization that neoliberalism wants to impose on workers.

The right to assemble and protest and to strike are fundamental levers for the workers’ struggle, capital wants to weaken us! That is why they are and will always be non-negotiable rights.

Workers and public opinion cannot allow themselves to be carried away with the Greek government’s attempt to justify with the epidemic outbreak that we are experiencing to call into question union rights and their use to assert the defense of their rights, by valuing work and of the workers!
