The class unions of Athens send a strong message of struggle demanding immediate strengthening of the public health system and protection measures in the workplaces on November 10 PAME Action Day for Healthcare. This was an important station in preparation of the General Strike on November 26.

The unions noted that the protection of the health of the workers and the people cannot wait was sent, yesterday, sent by trade unions and bodies, with various initiatives, in the context of the action day for Health that they organized in Attica Region.

With a big campaign, tours and meetings in workplaces, protest demonstrations in Health structures and with a protest in front of the Ministry of Health, they put in the foreground their demands for the protection of the health of the workers in the workplaces and the necessity for immediate strengthening of the public Health system. New mobilizations are organized tomorrow Thursday in the public hospitals of the whole country.

In the same spirit, that there can be no waiting or postponement in the workers’ demands, the trade unions are preparing the strike on November 26, in private and public sector.

Next to the front of the fight for the health of the people, the unions make it clear that they will not allow the government and employers to include in the “victims” of the pandemic the labor rights, with the bill they prepare and will impose 10hour/workday, ban union action and strikes.
