PAME (All-Workers Militant Front) expresses its class solidarity with the public employees of Turkey, who are on strike demanding a Collective Agreement, with wage increases that meet the needs of themselves and their families.
Their struggle is just and is part of the common struggle of all workers against the same anti-labour policies by governments in Turkey, Greece, and elsewhere, under the directives of capital, the EU, and the IMF.
In Greece, the government, with the new disciplinary law, criminalizes the union, social, and political action of public employees. It attacks Collective Agreements even further, it is ready to legislate the 13-hour working day for more flexibility. It strengthens employer and state arbitrariness, seeking to silence every voice of resistance, in order to safeguard the profits of the capitalists and their state, and to serve the objectives of the EU and NATO’s war economy.
In the same way, in Turkey, workers see their right to union organization and collective bargaining undermined and their wages crushed by high prices and inflation.
No government and no employer will ever grant rights. Workers, through solidarity and their common struggle, have the power to impose their rights, to win victories and gains.
PAME and the unions of Greece stand on the side of the public employees and all workers of Turkey and send the message:
Your struggle is our struggle, for Collective Agreements, for wage increases that meet our needs, for the right to union organization and action.
