The Government of SYRIZA, with the support of almost all bourgeois political parties imposed new anti workers measures in Social Security. It will continue with additional legislation the following period, aiming to destroy what is left of the social character of Social Security, promoting a private insurance model connecting contributions with services, which is the guideline of European Union’s Green Book on pensions.

The cut of the so callednon-wage costs was and still is a demand of the big capital for the protection of its profits, the previous years and today for its recovery.

The Government and the capital quickly moves forward with the imposition of plans, decided years ago in European Union level, for the creation of a social security system which will only give pensions-charities, with exempting the employers and the state from their contributions. They prepare a social insurance system where the insured will beg for job even after 67 years retirement age, so as to fulfill the requirements for a minimum pension to survive.

These measures were delayed for only one reason. Because of the resistance of the class oriented trade union movement. Because of the struggles of the previous years.

Whatever we kept with fierce struggles even within the crisis, the ‘Left” Government comes to destroy, proving its role with tragic consequences for people’s rights.

It is time to organize and fight. There is no room for disappointment and defeatism. It is time the working class to respond. To try its great force. Its great force that until now has put aside, putting its hopes to a governmental change without confrontation with the monopolies and the European Union.

Measures already legislated on Social Security

• Beginning July 1^st, 2015 the supplementary pensions are cut by 6% and main pensions are cut by 2% -LEGISLATED
• Abolishment of minimum-state guaranteed limits, cutting even 60% the pensions for those retired before 67 year of age. This will hurt mostly women, mothers, disabled people pensions, self employed-LEGISLATED
• Beginning 1.1.2016 “freezes” state funding to social security until 2021. State funding was already cut by 40% in 2015 compared to 2009. This will result in drastic cuts in all Social Security Funds. The additional hundreds of thousands of new pensioners until 2021, while state funding for pensions will be frozen will certainly lead to new pension cuts.- LEGISLATED
• New method of calculating the main pensions that will lead to new cuts for those retired after 1.1.2015. That means, for those retired before 67 years of age, after July 1^st 2015, pension cuts of at least 30%, reaching to 50% pension cut. – LEGISLATED

 
Measures planned for imposition the next period-To be legislated immediately

• Rise of the retirement age limit for about 300.000 people, 1 to 12 years.

• Cut early retirements by 80% in the next 5 years

Within the many more measures to be legislated till October 2015, is also the anti-trade union reform in Trade Union legislation and the right to Strike, the legalization of massive lay offs.

We must end the nightmare of pauperization! The true hope lies within class struggles! We defend whatever rights are left in pensions and Healthcare services! We fight to restore our losses, to extend our social and pension rights in the level of today’s needs. With massive, strong trade unions in every work place, which will rally and organize the workers, they will create a solid, unified front of resistance against the attack of the employers, the Greek Government and the EU! Against the poisonous influence of social partnership and class collaboration of the employers’ trade unionism. To strengthen the social alliance. The issue of social security, of pensions and Healthcare concerns also the self employed, the small farmers.

This is our response. Our alliance against the antiworkers’ agreements. No matter how many laws they legislate, the only law to which we pledge allegiance to is “what is just for the worker”!

We rally forces to demand whatever belongs to us, for the fulfillment of the needs of the people and not the profits of the monopolies.
