The CTB – Central dos Trabalhadores e Trabalhadoras do Brasil – sends its class greetings to the leadership and delegates of the PAME Congress and reaffirms its willingness to strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity between our union organizations.
We believe that this Congress is being held at a time of deepening structural capitalist crisis that particularly penalizes workers. The agenda of capital is deepening the precariousness of work, the withdrawal of labor, social security and union rights, and advancing regressive policies whose main content is the reduction of the cost of labor.
At the same time, the world is tormented by wars, such as the genocide promoted by Israel against the Palestinian people and Lebanon, and the advancement of NATO’s warmongering policy, which is currently provoking a proxy war using Ukraine for the objectives of US imperialist expansion against peace and the rejection of a multipolar world, with respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples.
In this context, holding meetings such as the PAME Congress is an important opportunity to denounce all these problems and advocate for a new agenda that focuses on defending the valorization of work and workers, restoring union rights, democracy, the sovereignty of nations, and a world that promotes peace and solidarity among peoples.
The CTB wishes success to its fellow PAME members and will follow the debates and resolutions of this Congress with due attention, always with a spirit of unity and respect for the opinions and positions to be approved by the delegates.
Greetings from the class.
