February 28 Greece National Strike. Record strike decisions by 35 Regional Trade Union Centers and 19 National Federations!

Hundreds of trade unions are coordinating their strike action on 28 February. Already the number of decisions by base unions has exceeded 260. The Regional TU Centers that have taken a strike decision have reached 35, a record number for a strike where the GSEE leadership team does not participate.

No trains, no planes, no ships-All on Strike

The air traffic controllers and airport telecommunicators have taken a decision to strike, grounding planes on 28 February, taking a stand for the safety of passengers and crews and demanding all the necessary recruitment, systems and equipment.

On the railways and other large areas

In the railway sector, with the burden on its staff a year after the train crash crime in Tempe, both the Panhellenic Federation of Railway Workers and the Panhellenic Union of Railway Staff have decided to strike.

The maritime workers’ unions PEMEN, “STEFENSON” and PEEMAGEN have declared a nationwide strike.

Strike decisions have taken and the Federations of major industrial sectors, with thousands of workers, such as the Federation of Energy, the Federation of Chemical Industry and from the transport sector the Federation of Transport Unions of Greece, but also the Federation of Bank Employees Organizations of Greece , the Federation of Private Employees of Greece, the largest in the private sector and the ADEDY for public sector workers and the Public Sector Federations, including the Federation of Hospital Doctors’ Unions.

Construction, Milk – Food – Beverages, Accountants, Pharmaceuticals, Special Education, Miners, Railway Workers, Private Employees, Press – Paper, Bottled Beverages, Textiles – Clothing – Leather, Chemical Industry, Transport, Visual-Audio, Energy, Bank Employees, Unions of Agricultural Workers of Greece (OSEGO), POSPERT (work stoppage).
