Capitalist Barbarism in a video – Company fires hundreds through video call

Δημοσιεύτηκε στις

The barbarity of this inhuman system that the few profit with the sweat and toil of the many, is captured in a short video released on the internet the last few days by a meeting of the employer of Better.com (US financial giant that provides loans through the Internet) with 900 employees.

In the meeting that took place online, a few days before Christmas, the CEO of the company, after referring to his personal difficulties and the market situation, announces

“If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group being laid off. Your employment here is terminated effective immediately,”

In this way the company fired 15% of its staff!

This is the barbarity of capitalism. This happens to millions of workers, in offices, factories, shops, behind closed doors with the threat of dismissal, the violence of unemployment hanging over the heads of those who produce wealth.

The difference between these incidents is that this was recorded on camera and the use of technology to promote employers’ anti-workers’ plans with the least possible reactions.

The answer to the plans and the violence of the employers is the organization and the collective struggle of the workers for their rights to work, salary, Collective Agreements.

We are responding to the attack by employers, governments, the EU, by strengthening the trade unions to get rid of these parasites that consider workers as expendable items and fire hundreds through video calls.
