On Wednesday, November 14th, strikes took place all over Greece in the sectors of Public Services, Construction and healthcare. The trade unions members of PAME held militant rallies in all major cities.
Particularly successful was the strike by the National Federation of Workers in Construction, a member of PAME, where in the big Construction sites the strike was universal with 100% participation, while on smaller construction sites it reached 90%.
A dangerous development, a clear example of escalation of authoritarianism and repression, was an incident where a secret police officer in Athens threatened with his gun a team of Construction Workers picket lines. At the same time, Riot Police forces attempted to capture the workers, an attempt that was prevented by the Federation of Workers in Construction. This incident is a continuation of the attack of the SYRIZA government against the militant Greek trade union movement.
These militant strikes were an important step in the escalation of the preparation of the General Strike on November 28
