Solidarity with the Secretary General of the CGT Commerce in France Amar Lagha
The Tourism – Hotels and Catering Trade Union denounces the unacceptable persecution of Amar Lagha, General Secretary of the CGT Commerce Federation of France, who is being persecuted by the multinational “METRO” for his militant and trade union activity.
The CGT Commerce France is the largest private sector federation in Francecovering the sectors of Commerce, Tourism, Call Centers and which is at the forefront of workers’ struggles for better working conditions, security measures, wage increases, etc. It is this militant attitude that has annoyed the METRO multinational and which is trying in every way to put a brake on the demands of the French workers.
It is at the very least infuriating thatwhile the French authorities summon the CGT Commerce’s secretary general to apologize on 26 March, at the same time they have not done anything about the employer terrorism of the METRO multinational! This shows whose interests are actually served by the state and the justice system.
We join our voices with the French workers, the dozens of unions and trade unions that have made militant mobilizations in defense of the workers of METRO company, which has launched an attack on their rights, creating a climate of fear and threats to anyone who resists and demands.
We express our solidarity with our colleague Amar Lagha and CGT Commerce, a member of the World Federation of Trade Unions, and demand that his unacceptable persecution be withdrawn now.
Employers’ terror will not pass – workers’ struggle will break it!
