With militant rallies in Athens and Thesaloniki, the people of Greece, the class unions and PAME responded to the call of the EEDYE (Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace) on August 9 to honor the victims of the imperialist crimes at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

People of all ages condemned the imperialist propaganda, the hypocrisy of the murderers of the people and the greatest crime of mass extermination of civilians caused by the American imperialists 71 years ago. At the same time the people condemned the imperialist crimes, calling for strengthening of the struggle against war and the Greece’s involvement in imperialist plans.

The banners stated: “We honor the victims of the nuclear holocaust in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Abolish all nuclear weapons. Close the NATO bases and headquarters. Out of NATO and EU”
