In order to show that we shall not bend to our knees, we are not going to compromise, to consent to the anti-peoples policy that wants us slaves.

PAME calls all the workers, unemployed, pensioners, self-employed, everybody  to give a massive, militant response to the government, the employers, the E.U. , all of them who , through the new bill they are bringing  in the parliament they aim at sweeping anything left of the labor rights, in favor of the business groups.

There can be only one slogan at every workplace: We collectively and massively discuss and decide our participation in the 24-hour STRIKE ON JULY 16.

Industrial workers, construction workers, dock workers, hotel employees, workers in commerce,  public sector employees, we must all become a united militant fist, to create the most powerful, stable, the wider unity that the workers’ struggle needs, against the subjugation and compromise.

The government brings a bill in the Parliament through which:

• The salary and the day-wage of the workers will be determined according to the needs of the business profitability. They abolish the National General Collective Labor Agreements and the sectoral agreements. 
• They bring new cuts in the medical care through new fines, cuts in the diagnostic tests, hospitalization, these have as a result the workers to pay for them in favor of the big business.
• Through the tax bill, it imposes new tax-robbery for the people with the new scales, so that workers, popular strata have to pay taxes from the first euro.
• Thousands of workers in the public sector are led to dismissals. There are plans for new massive dismissals in the private sector, with a reduction or elimination of the compensation fees.

Dear colleagues,

We know the difficulties there are in strikes. We know the pressure and the threats the employers launch every time. We know the vile propaganda the government and its parrots in the Mass Media make.

We know what it means to organize a strike and how much work is needed for its success. But we have to overcome the obstacles. The need to strike exists because, with the new measures they want to pass, they crush our lives, the future of our children and our own. We know what kind of movement we need and in which direction and through what perspective the anti- peoples policies will be overthrown.

The biggest difficulty of the organization, of this strike also, has to do with the attitude of the leaderships of the trade union movement.

The trade union leaderships in GSEE (Confederation of private sector employees) and ADEDY (Confederation of public sector employees) and the forces they influence, the same people who decided the strike, are not leading the way for the success of it, they are not fighting in favour of it, they do not want the conflict with the capitalist employers, with those who rob us and deprive us of our life.

They do not want the conflict with the anti-peoples policies, with the European Union. Many of them cover the strike breaking. Neither do they want, nor do they seek or lead the organization for the success of the strike. 

Because the subjugated trade union leaderships believe that the workers and the bosses are one family.

They are associates and partners of the capitalists and they co-sign reductions in salaries and day-wages.

They want a movement that will agree with the plans of the big business, a movement that will struggle for the capitalist development where the workers will also pay the price, in the same way they paid very expensively the capitalist crisis.

PAME has repeatedly denounced this attitude!

PAME calls you to take the case of the success of the strike in your own hands, despite the reservations.

We must not leave our lives in the hands of some “rescuers”. PAME will contribute with all its strength because we believe in the right of the working class. We believe in the power of the working class, we believe that if the working class will understand this power, it will get rid of the exploiters. 

Because we have a perspective that challenges not only the government, but the matrix creating memorandums and turning the life of the people into hell, which is the power of the monopolies.

You must close your ears to the sirens and the terrorist calls “no struggles now, heads down”, everyone to help for the coming development, for new Greece, according to what the government says. A development that will be built on the ruins of the rights of the working class, of the life of the popular strata.

The purpose and the goal of the forces of the capital is to give a decisive blow to the workers and their movement.

No complacency. The attack of the capital is in progress and will escalate. On the one hand is the world of the monopolies with its supporters and on the other hand is the world of the labor with its trade unions and its slogans, which say in capital letters NO SUBJUGATION TO THE CAPITAL’S DEMANDS. We give our response through organization, struggle, struggle of counterattack until the people’s final victory. This is our own way.

We struggle for the rights that will satisfy the modern needs of the workers and their families. We resist and reject the antilabor plans that the government directly promotes.
