On March 16, the so called “independent” justice puts on trial, again 35 leaders of PAME, Presidents of dozens of Trade Unions and Federations for Protest they had held in the Ministry of Labour in 2013, though they have been already found “not guilty”, as all accusations against them were all refuted in previous trial.
The fabricated charges are to criminalize a protest organized on 30.01.2013 by the class Federations and Unions in the Ministry of Labour to protest against the provocative statements of the Minister of Labour against the Public Social Security.
The previous Greek government tried to stage a provocation, accusing the unionists for damages allegedly made to the Minister’s of Labour office. From the photos published and from testimonies was proved that it was a provocation and the indictment was refuted, leading to the acquittal of all the accused.
Faced with the new demands of business groups and the Agreement between the SYRIZA Government and EU-IMF, they seek to impose silence in the sectors and the workplaces. Besides, in the new anti-workers’ measures, a key aspect of the new agreement is abolishment of trade union rights and freedoms, the right to strike. Resetting a trial-parody, they want to send a message, to intimidate the workers, to pave the way for a new attack.
We intensify the action and preparation of the workers for the organization of a response to the new anti-workers’ measures, preparation of National General Strike.
We call on trade unions to express a massive condemnation on the new effort to criminalize the class oriented trade unions’ action.
