ALL TOGETHER IN THE STRIKE DEMONSTRATION OF PAME

Working men and women, young people, unemployed, pensioners,
dear colleagues economic migrants,
This year’s May Day can be the starting-point of new struggles to overthrow the antipopular policy, an important step in the coalition – organization of workers within the trade unions at every work place.
We are the producers of all the wealth. No gear turns without us. There can be no wealth. However, without the capitalists, the owners of the wealth, it can be. We have been creating enormous wealth through our work, with our blood, with thousands of workers being crippled –victims at the employers’ galleys all these years. Whatever is produced in this country, all the new products that will be created in the future, are creations of the working people who work in conditions of cruel class exploitation and pressure by the big capital, the local and multinational monopolies.
While our country has got experienced and numerous labor force, possibilities for production of modern products, machines, tools. While it has significant productive resources and reserves of mineral wealth and can provide work for all and a decent life, prosperity for the people, sufficiency in foodstuff for the popular needs, a big part of the working class and especially youth is condemned to misery and unemployment, small tradesmen close their shops and farmers and field workers are vanished.
Today, we can work less, have leisure time, feel safe and enjoy a broad system of social care, without feeling anxiety for the future. But why do we live worse and our lives are plundered? Why are unemployment, poverty, and despair increased? Why are workers’ rights, which were achieved through struggles and blood, crushed? Why do the lives of young, children, women, pensioners become even worse? Why are nations cut into pieces and people threatened by new wars? Why is the planet shamelessly hit in the cause of profit and we are in danger because of the natural phenomena?
The answer lies to the question “who is in charge?”, to the fact that the produced wealth by society does not return to those who produce it, to the fact that criterion of production is not the satisfaction of the popular needs, but the increase of profitability. Because the means of production and wealth are concentrated in even fewer hands, in monopolies. That is why we have continuous economic crises.
The capitalist way of development, either in periods of development or even more in times of crisis, does not have something else to give but brutality at all levels. For capitalism, exit from the crisis means destruction of productive forces, depreciation of the working class, of the price of the labor force, bankruptcy of the people to save capital’s profits. In the state of monopolies the workers can not earn together with industrialists, bankers and shipowners. They earn by your own sweat. The more the capital earns, the more the workers lose.
War to the war that they have launched. Reversals everywhere!
We must erect an impenetrable wall, to develop class-oriented struggles to overthrow this policy which attacks rights, condemns the working family to unemployment and leads them hostages to poverty and degradation. We must join our forces for reversals everywhere. In factories, ships, work places, neighborhoods, the places where the popular family lives, works and is educated.
Reversals in the correlation of forces, to set free from the yoke of bankers, industrialists, monopolies, to change the class in power. Against us an antipopular, antilabor bloc has been constructed by the government, capital, E.U. and their parties and trumpets forth in all ways that today neither should we assert, nor question the choices of plutocracy, but we should constantly bend our knees to the employers’ demands, to compromise with even less every time. At the same time, with the prospect of the future, they are preparing the ground from today, so that after the crisis the profits of plutocracy will be multiplied more easily and quickly.
You should not accept them to “skin” you, so that the capital profitability will be preserved. No worker must accept the future that they prepare, nobody should accept that these measures are temporary – particularly youth must not have illusions – that capitalism can be corrected, that the system can be humanized through different management. The workers must isolate the voices, which, with faked revolutionary words, support the management attempts to rescue the capitalist system. They must think hard concerning the voices that firmly speak against PAME and slander the class-oriented movement and the labor struggles.
Reversals in the trade union movement. A front against the subjugated trade union majorities, namely those who try to disarm the working class, who are servile to every government and employer, who undermine the class-oriented struggles and help for the abolition of the Collective Agreements and rights, those who help so that the policies in favour of monopolies will be implemented without popular reactions.
A frontal, class conflict with the employers and its mechanisms is imperative. They have already received the message, but it must be secured and generalized. They have to see every day, in every work place that there is an important part of workers who cannot be controlled by them.
We strengthen the social alliance.
There is another path of development. Change the class which is in power.
Towards this all-round attack, the working class, farmers and tradesmen who suffer, must become organized, join their forces with the workers in a common struggle against monopolies, separating their forces from the industrialists, large craftsmen and businessmen.
There can be no delay. Every minute, every moment must be at the service of popular coalition, of mobilization of wider labor and popular forces. The path is not an easy one. Collective and individual sacrifices, endurance, strength, strong reaction are needed, that can block the plans at the expense of workers and their allies. These sacrifices are significant, compared to the millstone round our necks that the system demands today.
Today, there are all the necessary material conditions for full-time and stable job, reduced working hours, for exclusively free public facilities (such as health, education, popular housing, culture, sports, more leisure time), for wages and pensions that will meet the today’s popular needs.
The slogan “Law is the right of workers” bothers them. It affects the monopolies domination over our lives. The more workers understand it and put it into their lives, the sooner the working people realize their power, the quicker the forces of plutocracy will weaken and bankrupt. The working class and popular forces can and must take the case into their own hands. Front of resistance in every sector, in every work place for the protection of the workers’ life, work and dignity. No sacrifice for the plutocracy. NO to the abolition of Collective Agreements. We must prevent the new crimes against our social security rights, the reduction of pensions; we must prevent the abolition of all the remained free benefits in Health, Education, social services and the sell-out of the public property. The plutocracy must pay; we must push the exploiters in the margin.
There is an exit for the working class and its allies. It is their own power, which will plan the economy of their real modern needs, which means that the produced wealth and the means of production should become popular wealth, which will impose the law of those who produce the wealth against those who exploit it today. The wealth is produced by the people; consequently it belongs to the people.
