TUI Transport, Ports, Fishery and Communication, the sectoral organization of the World Federation of Trade Unions which gathers hundreds of thousands of workers in its rank, firmly supports the fair struggle of the workers of Cosco dock workers in Piraeus led by the militant ENEDEP Union.

A young worker was sacrificed by the employers for the sake of getting more and more profits due to the lack of necessary precautions that should have been taken beforehand. This is completely a criminal attitude. We strongly condemn and protest the Cosco Employer’s anti-worker implementations. They must bear in their mind that no interest is more valuable than the life of a single worker.

TUI Transport, Ports, Fishery and Communication expresses its most sincere condolences to the family of the 45-year-old worker who was killed because of the emotionlessness of the employers. We also state our firm solidarity with the workers who are giving a militant struggle under the leadership of their militant union ENEDEP.

We’ll be monitoring the dispute between Cosco workers and employers and taκe necessary steps. We wish great success to Cosco workers with their strike.
