The Regional Trade Union Center of Agrinio and Construction Workers’ Trade Union of Agrinio, on the recent floods

Δημοσιεύτηκε στις

The recent floods in our area, but also in other counties, have come on top of the multiple problems faced by workers and other popular strata because of the EU policies and the governments, who continually reduce our income. The results of these floods were devastating for the people living in these areas.

We call directly the Municipalities, Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania etc to take all necessary measures to repair the damage and to compensate 100% those affected.

Floods brought in the news, once again, the positions of the Construction Workers Federation for flood control projects across the country in addition to those for earthquake protection projects since our country is highly seismic.

We urge the government to immediately take action and to send what funds needed to make infrastructure projects that will limit the damage from such phenomena, both in our area and throughout the country. So as not to mourn more victims in addition to the destruction, because in the past there were many.

Also, this will make possible the recovery of the construction industry and find jobs for our colleagues who in the years of the crisis have suffered extreme unemployment (over 85% in the construction industry).

The Boards of The Regional Trade Union Center Of Agrinio And The Construction Workers’ Trade Union Of Agrinio express their unconditional support for the victims of the floods.
