Great Audacity or a test of authoritarianism?

 The attempt to interrupt the satirical theatrical performance of standup comedian Christoforos Zaralikos by a supposedly “indignant mob” evokes memories of authoritarianism and censorship.

In the history of the Greek theater are written in black letters the days when actors in the middle of a performance were taken to detention centers, prisons or in exile because of their art work. Even recently, there have been cases, not coincidentally, where groups of “indignat citizens” have tried to block performances.

True, the theatrical discourse when it does not serve the interests of shipowners, media owners and big capitalists, hurts them, it becomes a thorn in their side and they rush to silence anything that resists their policy.

The working class is aware of and has long stopped such authoritarian behaviors. The right to free expression was won with the blood and struggle of workers. We will not let anyone take it away from us.
