The Federation of Workers in Textile of Greece condemns the new employers’ crime in a shoe factory at Philippines, where more than 70 workers of our sector were burned alive, trapped in the modern sweatshops of the multinationals.

From Athens to Manila the monopolies only care is to multiply their profits that come from the blood and sweat of the workers. That is the exploitative path of capitalist growth, every capitalists’ dream for cheap and expendable workers. That is how they guarantee their competitiveness, the monopolies of the sector, in countries like the Philippines, without any health and safety measures for the workers, under wretched labor relations.

We express our sympathy to the families of the victims, the workers of the sector and the working class of the Philippines. We call for strengthening the fight to overthrow today’s barbaric, slavery.
