Colleagues,
The Union of Workers at Telecommunications, IT and Call Centers of Athens(SETIP), member of PAME and WFTU, expresses its’ solidarity and support to the 14-hour strike that was organized and successfully realized by the workers from the 27th to the 30th of November in System House and System Data Center in Taranto, Italy reacting to the reorganization of labor time imposed by TARANTO RTI.
This is not far from what we also face in Greece, where the ruling party of “New Democracy” is planning to submit and vote a new, anti-worker bill that will impose and legalize 10-hour working days. Especially in the sectors of Telecommunications and Informatics’, where teleworking is almost a rule for companies, we live its’ consequences on a daily basis with the destruction of steady working time and the work intensifying.
In this period, where the consequences from the pandemic are more and more evident in the lives of working people and their families, multinational corporations have found an excellent opportunity to further attack our rights so they can secure their competitiveness and profitability.
Against this combined attack from the Capital and the more than willing to help it governments around the world, international solidarity from the working class is our response, the response that workers around the world can and should give to defend our life, our health and our labor rights.
We express our support to your struggle
With comradely greetings
