The Federation of Workers in Pharmaceuticals in Greece, member of PAME and WFTU expresses its solidarity with our colleagues in the British pharmaceutical multinational GlaxoSmithKline GSK for their decision for the first time to go on strike and claim militantly collective contract with better salaries, against the mockery of the company. Workers collectively and en mase voted and rejected with 86% the multinational’s proposal for increases initially 2.75% and later to 4%.
Multinationals, especially in the pharmaceutical industry, have made huge profits of billions in recent years during the pandemic, but are also taking advantage of the antiworkers’ measures and relationships to impose low wages and turn workers into modern-day slaves.
The only path for workers is collectively to fight against multinational companies for humane working conditions, wages with substantial increases that do meet contemporary needs and workers’ rights.
