On Tuesday, September 6, the unions and the workers of Thessaloniki held a big rally of Solidarity with the strike of MALAMATINA workers, which continues for more than a month.

The Union of Workers of MALAMATINA thanked the people for their solidarity in the struggle to cancel the 15 layoffs and sign Collective Contract with better wages. Special thanks were expressed to the workers and unions from other countries who expressed their support with messages and statements.

Hundreds of people rallied at the MALAMATINA workers’ Union offices and then took to the streets of Thessaloniki calling for support and solidarity with the strike.

At the same time, the class unions and federations in Athens held a protest at the Ministry of Labor and met with the Ministry demanding that the management of MALAMATINA cancels the layoffs and signs the contract with the workers.
