Today, Friday, September 23, forces of PAME, delegation of the Labour Center of Piraeus and the class trade unions of maritime workers and sea transports, held a protest of solidarity in Piraeus, with the workers of MEDLOG-MSC in Turkey.

The Unions’ delegation went to the headquarters of the multinational Mediterranean Shipping Company (subsidiary of which is MEDLOG-MSC), which are located at the port of Piraeus, and protested against the lay offs and the attacks against trade union activity by the company in Turkey. specifically, MEDLOG-MSC has laid off 130 workers the last weeks to stop them from joining the class union Nakliyat-Is (WFTU Affiliate). Also, to block the actions of the union, the company demands against the union the imposition of the anti-terrorist legislation that exists after the failed coup.

The unions held a protest to the company and denounce the tactics of the multinational. They also informed the workers of MSC Greece about the conditions of their colleagues in Turkey. At the end of the protest the unions held a banner at the front of the company’s offices and WFTU flags, to express their support and solidarity with their colleagues in Turkey.
