The class unions held a protest in the city of Elefsina, industrial area near Athens, on Thursday, January 21, demanding immediate measures of protection. The representatives of the Unions pointed out that the increase in numbers of covid-19 cases in the surrounding municipalities confirms that as long as no protection measures are taken in the workplaces, a “ping-pong” of the coronavirus will continue from the workplace to the homes of the workers. They complain that under the responsibility of the government and the employers, the workplaces and the transport system remain health bombs for the spread of the pandemic in the industrial area and Athens.
