PAME expresses its deepest condolences for the tragic death of dozens of workers, mainly firefighters, following an explosion at the city’s container station in Shitakunda, Bangladesh.

The blast, according to reports so far, was triggered by a fire that broke out in a chemical container storage facility. This new accident adds to the numerous employer crimes in the vast industry of Bangladeshi workers being exploited by large multinationals, who are harassing local workers in unacceptable conditions without protection and safety measures.

Respectively, the bell rings for the dangers that pose for the workers in all the countries in corresponding workplaces from the non-observance and application of the safety and protection measures.

PAME expresses its condolences to the Bangladeshi trade unions and the families of the victims.
