PAME Protest at the Embassy of Morocco for the Melilla Massacre

PAME held a protest on Friday, July 1st at the Embassy of Morocco in Athens denouncing the Melilla Massacre.

The Government of Morocco and its Embassy showed once more its positions against the people and workers’ unions by closing down the embassy and calling the Greek Government to “protect” them from the workers of Greece.

PAME denounced the Greek Government which send Police to surround the Embassy and the Government Morocco, which refused to receive the Resolution of PAME.

PAME noted in its statement

“The government of Morocco, together with the government of Spain have stained their hands with the blood of thousands of migrants who were uprooted from their countries by poverty and wars.

The dirty “agreements” between the EU and countries on the borders of Europe, like Morocco, have turned the Mediterranean into a vast graveyard of migrants and refugees, they cultivate racism and xenophobia and lead thousands of migrants on dangerous roads, making them the target of smuggling rings and other mechanisms

The timing of the crime in Melilla and the cynical statements of the so-called “progressive” Prime Minister of Spain with the NATO summit in Madrid, is an additional reminder of NATO’s role in “protecting the people”. Another page in the Black Book on the crimes of European imperialism against the peoples.

The working class of the world is not divided by borders, color, religion, sex or race. We are united by the common struggle against poverty, unemployment, uprooting. The common struggle against the system that breeds poverty and war.

We are escalating workers’ struggle to overthrow barbarism and misery.

We strengthen the common struggle of Greeks and migrants!
