PAME Message for Palestinian Land Day – March 30th
PAME, a member of WFTU, is greeting March 30th, Palestinian Land Day. This year’s Day of Palestinian Land finds the Palestinian people still suffering the consequences of the Israeli occupation. The EU and its governments, including the Greek of today’s government of ND or SYRIZA yesterday, have great responsibilities as they keep equal distances between the murderer and victim while simultaneously expanding and continually expanding political, economic, military cooperation with the murderer state of Israel. Similarly, the strategy of American imperialism in the region strengthens and shields Israeli occupation.
This year, the position of the Palestinian people is even worse, as in addition to the imperialist plague, the people of Palestine are also confronted with the coronavirus epidemic. The policies to support monopolies result in people dying and lying in hospital corridors in the USA, Italy, Spain etc, due to the enormous shortcomings in the field of Public Healthcare. We can easily understand what can happen in Gaza with its economy devastated by Israeli blockade, air strikes and bombings. Gaza, which currently has 40 intensive care beds and a maximum capacity of 100.
In these circumstances, there is a growing need for increased international solidarity so that workers around the world can fight to demand the satisfaction of their modern needs. Once more stronger than ever, we express our full support to the Palestinian people, we greet their struggles.
The Palestinian people are not alone in their struggle for their fair demands for a free, independent, sovereign homeland on the border with ’67, with its capital of East Jerusalem. The Greek class oriented movement, PAME, is firmly on their side and in their rightful demands.
