PAME Meetings With Trade Unions From South Africa And India

On Tuesday 6 September trade unions from South Africa and India visited PAME and had a meeting with delegation of the Executive Secretariat.

In particular, PAME’s offices visited the leaders of the WFTU affiliates in South Africa, General Secretary of NUM, comrade David Sipunzi, General Secretary of NEHAWU, comrade Zola Zapetha, General Secretary of POPCRU, comrade Nkosinathi Theledi and the POPCRU leaders, comrades Amelia Mahlatsi, Boitumelo Pheleo, Hangwani Mashao, Mosadiwamaje Mokokong accompanied by Michael Makwayiba, President of the World Federation of Trade Unions. PAME also visited a delegation from the Confederation of India, CITU composed by Dr Kandikuppa Hemalata, Tapan Sen and Swadesh Dev Roye.

The trade unionists in Athens, invited in Athens by the World Federation of Trade Unions, expressed their Solidarity for the struggles of Greek workers, the action of PAME and informed about the situation of the workers in their countries. The trade unions discussed the need to develop new initiatives to strengthen relations between the class trade unions of each country.
