PAME that represents the class trade union movement of Greece expresses its solidarity to the transport workers of France, the members and friends of WFTU who are mobilizing on February 4 against the antiworkers policy of privatizations, layoffs and persecutions of workers who fight and act for their rights.

The strike action of February 4 is organized against the persecution of 8 workers of Goodyear who were convicted to 9months in prison, only because they fought to protect their jobs. This conviction comes as continuation of the persecution of the workers of AirFrance and the generalized attack against the workers. The capital, the governments and the employer-controlled unions today question basic rights and liberties of the workers, even the right to go on strike.

Dear comrades, PAME, the workers of Greece who on February 4 we will also be on General Strike, we know very well what authoritarianism and oppression means against the unions. In Greece 99/100 strikes are called illegal. Strikers, workers and fighters being arrested and sent to court is a daily phenomenon. Just 2 weeks ago the SYRIZA government attacked with riot police to the demonstration of workers and pensioners, while it prepares a new bill that will put new obstacles to the action and function of the trade unions.

When the offensive of the Capital-European Union-Governments against the peoples escalates, the trade union movement has to respond with massive organization, isolation of the forces of class collaboration, counterattack and demand of our contemporary needs. In this direction, internationalism and class solidarity are our weapons. On February 4, Greek and French workers will rally to the streets of struggle.
