Dear Comrades of CGTP-In,
PAME that represents the class trade union movement of Greece, condemns the terrorizing attempt of the Portuguese Government, which imposed “Labor Requisition” to stop the strike prepared by the aviation workers of TAP for 27 to 30 of December against the privatization of the State Company TAP and to defend their rights. We express our solidarity and support to the workers of TAP and we will stand by you in whatever way you decide to continue the fight.
The capital and the political-legal system that serves it, in to promote its interests, privatizations, wage reductions and the elimination of workers’ rights to education and health, in all EU countries, attacks trade union rights and freedoms of workers. The EU and the governments of the Member States go on a planned attack against the workers’ right to strike and demand collective agreements.
In Greece 9 out of 10 strikes are called illegal and every day we witness trade union leaders of PAME to be laid off, accused and dragged to courts, only because they organize the workers’ struggle, while “Labor Requisition”, “Civil Mobilisation Act” is used more and more frequently by the Greek Governments to terrorize workers. Simultaneously political parties of the Capital promote laws to change the role of Trade Unions, to restrict their rights, to submit the trade union movement under class collaboration.
Workers in Greece, Portugal, in every EU country must strengthen the fight to defend their rights, trade union freedoms, and the right to strike. Against state violence and repression we must strengthen the solidarity movement at national and international level, coordination and joint action of class trade unions in Europe.
We demand:
• Taken back now the measure of “Labor Requisition”
• Realize the just demands of workers of TAP
• No to the selling of TAP
PAME
