Last Friday 24th of October there was the general strike called by USB.
We did rallies in 27 Italian cities: Rome, Milan, Naples, Florence and many others. More than 100.000 people in many demonstrations, more than one million on strike, a very big participation of private and public workers, unemployed, migrants, pensioners, students.
It wasn’t easy: all powers are against us, all media not gave information about our strike and demonstrations in the past weeks. They worked to cancel us and our fight. This strike and these demonstrations are very important in this moment .
USB considers this way the only possible way to answer government reforms. The Renzi government is applying in a quick and violent way the Troika diktats. New reform on labour market (Jobs act) making easier dismissal, ‘stability law’ transfers resources to enterprise decreasing welfare expense.
Workers rights are cancelled, the welfare expense is cut, we have to fight to avoid this and to defence our class: workers, unemployed, pensioners, migrants. We have to work to connect fights.
Today, with our strike and demonstrations calling on a clear and net platform, we are on the way, we are sure we have represented a real answer to government policies .
An important step in our fight .
