Immediate Militant Response to Union Busting and Firing of Unionists in Athens

Δημοσιεύτηκε στις

Workers gave an immediate and militant response to the multinational PEOPLECERT union busting practices and intimidations against workers.

The multinational attempted to block union elections inside the company by imposing teleworking the day the elections were to take place and firing 5 members of the union, through videocall, within 10 minutes on the same day.

The company specifically targeted workers who were in the list for election in the Union board. This way PEOPLECERT wanted to intimidate the workers and forward new attacks against workers’ rights.

Against this attack, the intimidations, the teleworking, the workers participated massively in the union elections and held a militant protest at the company demanding the cancelation of the layoffs.

The company shut down the entrance of the building attempting to avoid the union protest but was forced to meet with the Union representatives.

The union demanded the cancellation of the layoffs, the return of all workers to their posts and that the company stop all union busting practices!

Great support to the 5 fired workers was expressed by their colleagues and other workers of the area who united demanded the cancellation of the layoffs!
