Workers from all over Greece are gathering humanitarian aid for their colleagues in Turkey. Unions, students, associations are gathering blankets, basic foods, first aid necessities etc. at the same time from all sectors there are overwhelming proposals of volunteers.
In Lesvos, the regional Trade Union has gathered materials with a small note saying
“Solidarity is the power of the peoples” and in Turkish the message “Geçmiş olsun komşular”, which means “Get well soon neighbors”

The National Federation of Public Hospital Doctors is in contact with their colleagues in the Turkish Medical Association and the authorities for many doctors who volunteered to go to Turkey and help the victims.
Another example is the moving initiative was taken by migrant land workers from Bangladesh, from the fields of Manolada, Greece who have left their homeland and their families behind and are working in the most difficult conditions.
The migrant workers, who have learned in practice the power and importance of organisation and solidarity, after watching the situation with the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey-Syria, learned about PAME’s call for solidarity and collected from their savings a sum of money to buy essentials to be sent to the affected people.
In addition to material aid PAME called for Blood Donation for the earthquake victims under the slogan “Solidarity is in our Blood” with the following Poster in Greek, Turkish and Arabic
