The National Federation of Textile Workers of Greece (OEKIDE), a member of PAME and WFTU, expresses its grief over the tragic death of our 22-year-old colleague Luana d’Orazio, mother of a five-year-old boy, who died tragically when she was trapped in the gears of the machine, where she worked without the necessary safety measures at a factory in the region of Tuscany in Italy.
The death of our young colleague is not another accident, but another employer crime like the ones that happen every day in our country and around the world.
The reason is known, the non-observance of safety and health measures by the employers in the workplaces because these are “costs”, the intensification of work to maximize the profitability of business groups.
Our Federation expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family of our lost colleague Luana and to her coworkers. We express our solidarity with their militant mobilizations
