Intimidations Will Not Pass-Free Palestine!

PAME denounces the unprecedented persecution of a Palestinian demonstrator in Athens, because he raised the flag of Palestine together with the flag of Greece! A persecution that opens dangerous paths of repression and Intimidations against the entire labour-people’s movement and the pro-peace, anti-imperialist action.

The criminalization of people’s action and the struggle for peace and freedom will not pass!

In the face of the huge wave of solidarity with the Palestinian people, the Greek government that shook the bloody hand of the butcher Netanyahu, proceeds to blatant lies, cultivating fake news, and when these too fail, proceeds to persecute those who raise their heads. They are following the reactionary and dangerous path laid out by the EU and the US by terrorizing and persecuting those who support the just demands of the Palestinian people.

INTIMIDATIONS WILL NOT PASS

According to the rationale of the persecution, every peaceful action, every child who draws a Palestinian flag, every trade union and club that mobilizes against the plans of NATO and the US, every person who opposes the massacre in Gaza can be persecuted on the grounds that “it exposes the Greek state or its ally or their inhabitants to the risk of reprisals or exposes the friendly relations of the Greek state or its ally with a foreign state to the risk of disturbing them.”

According to the rationale of the prosecution, the first persecutions should be the governments of the country that collaborate with the murderer state of Israel, which is an occupying power and puts us at risk of general conflict in the region, all those who signed the concession of Greek territory for NATO’s war plans, all those who ceded the areas of Souda, Elefsina, Kalamata, Alexandroupolis, as a bridgehead for the US-NATO-EU-Israel wars, involving the Greek people in the conflicts and wars of the imperialists and exposing the people of Greece to the risk of reprisals.

On Sunday 5 November thousands of people, workers, young people, women and children in the centre of Athens raised the flags of Palestine, sang its anthem, written by our own Mikis Theodorakis and supported the struggle of a country under occupation for freedom. They demanded an end to the slaughter of 4,000 murdered young children.

This persecution is further proof that the propaganda machine of the governments and Israel has failed. Day by day, the demonstrations of solidarity with Palestine all over the world, in Europe, America, , Asia, Australia, are growing, gigantic. People are standing with the people of Palestine, on the right side of history to stop the crime.

NOW to cease all prosecutions, to drop all charges, to drop all accusations.

NOW to recognize the Palestinian state in accordance with the unanimous decision of the Parliament
