Maritime unions in all categories of ships, started National Strike at dawn of February 8 and will continue until Friday at 6am.

The maritime workers are demanding the renewal and implementation of Collective Labour Agreements, with wage increases in all categories of ships. At the same time, they demand the withdrawal of the provisions promoted by the reform of the Private Maritime Code, which escalates the attack on their wages and working conditions.

At the port of Piraeus, the seafarers’ unions PEMEN, “STEFENSON” and PEEMAGEN fought a battle of the picket line from the early hours of the morning, and then held a strike meeting from where they conveyed the solidarity of the workers to the peoples of Turkey and Syria, who are facing the consequences of the deadly earthquake, and called on the unions to organize the collection of material aid.
