Thousands of workers, unions, federations and labour centers, responded to the call of PAME for demonstrations against the new measures decided by the Greek Government of SYRIZA, with the European Union-IMF-ECB-ESM. Measures that aim to support the big business groups.

In addition to the brutal anti-workers’ measures imposed the last years, the Government with the EU-IMF decided for new measures on labour relations (liberalization of massive layoffs, new wage cuts through the imposition of sub-minimum wage), new barbaric taxation to the people, new cuts in pensions, when at the same time they are to give a series of new privileges to the business groups.

The demonstrations gave a clear statement that the class trade union movement will not accept the new measures. It will organize its response and already has called for preparation of a new General-National Strike.

Their international solidarity expressed to PAME many unions and also a delegation of unions of WFTU, headed by Valentin Pacho, WFTU Vice President and the Member of WFTU’s Financial Control Committee, Lefteris Georgiadis, Ozzi Warwick and Mohar Manswar.
