CASINO RIO Workers’ Strike Against Layoff of the Union’s President

With a massive strike response on Wednesday, January 19, the workers of CASINO RIO in Patras demanded the cancelation of the layoff of PAME cadre Vasilis Vasileiou, President of the Hotel-Tourism Workers Union of Patras and Board Member of the local Regional Trade Union Canter of Patras.

The management of CASINO RIO laid off the unionist leader in an attempt to intimidate the workers who have organized a series of actions to break the miserable working conditions in the Casino.

With the solidarity of Unions and workers from many sectors the workers demanded the cancellation of the layoff and will escalate their fight with a new 2day strike on January 21-22.
