Δημοσιεύτηκε στις

On February 8 artists of all arts, musicians, actors, dancers, directors, technicians etc went on a new National Strike against the Presidential Decree that devalues their education and working rights. With them also thousands of students of art schools who continue their mobilisations, as well as the teachers.

Also massive was the participation of the employees of the Ministry of Culture and their unions, who are protesting against the bill that aims for the separation of the five major Greek museums from the Archaeological Service, a bill that is another link in the deeper privatization and business operation of museums.

The Strike started with occupation of the Ministry of Culture, which was followed by a massive demonstration in the streets of Athens to the Parliament and ended at the occupation of the National Theatre in the Chiller building, where was announced over the loudspeakers the resignation of the National Theatre faculty in protest of the situation facing the artists and students. Massive protests took place also in Thessaloniki, Larissa and other cities of Greece.
