Δημοσιεύτηκε στις

The Union of Private Employees in Athens held a strike on December 11 for workers in Médecins Sans Frontières’ (Doctors Without Borders) offices, demanding the re-employment of the four fired  workers.

It is an important step that the workers themselves, with the help of the Union, have organized and protected their mobilization.

Under the pressure and the decisive position of the workers, the employer was forced to stop additional layoffs that they were planning for the next days.

Already, the Athens Private Employees Union has called for a meeting with Médecins Sans Frontières so as to cancel the 4 layoffs.

At the same time the Union denounced the government and the leadership of the Ministry of Justice for the intensification of the repression and the presence of police forces at the time of the mobilization who, under the decisive intervention of the workers and the union, withdrew.
