With a militant and massive demonstration on May 18, the workers in Public Local Administration protested against the thousands of layoffs planned by the SYRIZA Government.
Their demonstration reached the Ministry of Public Administration, where, the Minister refused to meet the workers’, who responded by invading the Ministry. After breaking the entrance, the workers occupied the Ministry again, and forced the Minister to meet them.
The Minister’s answer to the demands of the workers were vague and did not satisfy the need to immediately secure and protect the thousands of workers with limited time contracts who are to lose their jobs.
Against this situation, the workers in Local Public Administration declared a 2day strike for May 22-23 and escalation of the struggle. The workers also participated massively in the demonstration of PAME in the afternoon of May 18.
