The Class Trade Unions Respond To The Anti Workers’ Offensive

The class trade unions escalate their action against the antiworkers’ offensive with a series of actions against the employers and also the Government of SYRIZA, which legislates new measures against the people.

Thursday, November 19

  • Athens. Trade unions organized militant protests at the Bank of Greece and the Ministry of Finance with demanding to stop the auctioning off of primary residence by the Government and Banks.

  • Athens. Workers in Municipalities of Athens held a protest at the Ministry of Labour demanding the end of limited time contracts. The hiring of all employees at the municipalities with Full Time, steady jobs.

  • Volos. At the paper Industry VIS the Federation of Workers in Paper-Press-Printing Industries organized a meeting with the workers and the Union to discuss about the many day strike of the Union against 31 layoffs. The Federation announced more initiatives to strengthen solidarity with the strikers.

  • Volos. The Federation of Workers in Paper-Press-Printing Industries expressed its solidarity with the strike of the CocaCola workers, who are on strike in Volos against the transfer of the facility to another area.

  • Heraklion Crete. At the Recycling Factory, the workers continued their struggle against layoffs. The local forces of PAME organize a demonstration of Solidarity at Heraklion, on November 20
