Strike in Retail/Commerce against the abolishing of Sunday as a Day Off

On Sunday, December 14, the Trade Unions of Workers in Retail/Commerce went on Strike against the abolishing of Sunday as a day off work. The strike targeted big malls where thousands of workers are concentrated, as well as in multinationals like Carrefour. Protests were organised in Athens, Piraeus, Thessalonica, Herakleion and Lamia.

The Trade Unions called informed both workers and customers about the real target of the measure which is “the imposition of the direction of the EU for a 7-day work week of 68-hours-work”.
