The labor aristocracy organizes a Euro-demonstration

on April 9, in Budapest

At the time that we live the most brutal and coordinated European attack, which will bring new sufferings at the expense of all the peoples. At the time that every capitalist country struggles furiously to ensure the biggest profits for their own sake by exploiting the working class. At the very same time, the employers’ and governmental European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) organizes on April 9, “euro-demonstration” in Budapest, on the occasion of the Hungarian Presidency in the E.U. and the meeting of the European Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) with the European Central Bank.

At the same time, the ETUC applauds the decisions of the Summit of the “17 eurozone countries” on March 11, as a positive development for workers and does not say a word about the content of the antilabor decisions of the E.U. summit on March 25. The general secretary of the ETUC, John Monks (who was recently named baron by the Queen of England) travels across Europe to support the antipopular policies of the European Commission and the monopolies of the E.U.

PAME and the class-oriented trade union movement of Europe have repeatedly denounced this organization as a mechanism of capital, which has numerous financial resources to manipulate the workers, to buy off trade unionists and to corrupt consciences.

In practice ETUC is a tool of the capital, which is used so that the ideological, political and financial directions of the multinationals will be applied to the working class.

ETUC systematically highlights, supports and promotes the several decisions that the institutions of European Union make concerning the employment, labor relations, social security etc. These decisions aim at abolishing the workers’ rights, promoting the “flexibility”, “competitiveness” and “medieval labor”.

ETUC since its establishment believes that workers and industrialists are partners and proposes that the exploiters and those who suffer from exploitation should work together to overcome the crisis.

The trade unions which participate in ETUC (social-democrats in close cooperation with opportunists) sell out the workers’ rights in their countries (we can see the GSEE in Greece – the CCOO in Spain, the TUC in England – the CGT in France – the CGIL in Italy etc.).

Dear colleagues,

PAME will organize a big manifestation on Wednesday April 6, at 6.30 p.m. at the Tae Kwon Do stadium (Faliro Bay) on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 16th World Trade Union Congress of the World Federation of Trade Unions (W.F.T.U.). 800 delegates from 100 countries will participate in the Congress. These delegates are from all the militant and class-oriented trade unions all over the world. W.F.T.U. has today 80 million members in 120 countries of the world. It strengthens the class-oriented perception within the trade union movement and follows an anti-imperialist, anti-monopoly line. W.F.T.U. is an internationalist organization that cultivates the proletarian internationalism among workers all over the world.

The class-oriented trade union movement of our country which is rallied to PAME, in alliance with the organizations of the self-employed, the poor farmers, the women and youth, struggle against monopolies, the parties that serve them and E.U., for another path of development and power which will aim at the welfare of the people.

We express our internationalism to all the workers in the countries of Europe who abandon the trade union leaders that are subjugated to the interests of the big capital and pave the way together with new – militant – class-oriented trade unions to organize the counterattack.

We struggle for the abolition of the exploitation of man by man.

We are confident that the working class will win.

We struggle to bring this victory earlier.
