The maritime workers trade unions have called for Strike Action on November 2-3 and participation to the National General Strike of November 12 to resist the plans of the SYRIZA Government to demolish the maritime workers’ social security rights, and also to liberalize the crews’ compositions in ferries, expanding this way employment without rights. The Greek Government imposes the same policies of other European states, aiming to cut the operational costs for the Greek Maritime corporations. This direction, the diminished numbers of crew members, creates great risks for the safety of both crews and passengers.
They violate international treaties for safety at sea, in the name of competitiveness, following the directives of the European Union for wage cuts to the workers in poverty levels.
The forces of PAME in Sea Transport, the trade unions of PEMEN, Stefenson, PEEMAGEN call the maritime workers to rally with the whole working class of Greece, massively and militantly in their just struggle.
To give strong Strike Response in November 2 and November 3
To take part in the National General Strike of November 12
