We denounce the US Recognition of the Illegal Israeli Settlements in Palestine

PAME denounces the new provocative US move to recognize the illegal Israeli settlements in the Palestinian West Bank as “legitimate”.

US Secretary of State Pompeo, in a provocative statement, justified this move by saying: “The hard truth is there will never be a judicial resolution to the conflict, and arguments about who is right and wrong as a matter of international law will not bring peace “

A statement-position that breaks the illusions cultivated by ND-SYRIZA on the occasion of Pompeo’s visit to Athens a few weeks ago. The recognition of settlements is essentially a legalization of Israel’s illegal seizure and occupation of Palestinian land. The murderers of the peoples do not guarantee “peace”, since their “peace” is just as dangerous as their war. Their “peace” gives birth to poverty, wars, refugees.

The people of the region have nothing positive to expect from the butchers who have bloodshed the Middle East and turned the Mediterranean into a wet tomb for thousands of uprooted.

Whatever decisions the US-NATO-Israel take, justice will always be on the side of the Palestinian people. Greece’s class union movement, PAME, stands with the Palestinian people to gain their own independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
